The Tanacross Village Council (TVC) is the Federally Recognized IRA Tribal Government for the Native Village of Tanacross. TVC is made up of seven elected Tribal members, they are:

Ms. Dawn Jonathan, Secretary
Ms. Rose Isaac, Member
Mr. Ray Sanford, Member
Ms. Diane Titus, Member
Mr. Keith Jonathan, Member
Mr. Earnest Arnold, Member
By authority of the act of Congress, Sections 16 & 17 of the Indian Reorganization Act (IRA)(AKA Wheeler-Howard Act) of June 18, 1934 (48 Stat. 984), as amended by the acts of June 15, 1935 (49 Stat. 378) and Section 1 of the Act of May 1, 1936, the Native Village of Tanacross began to organize its Corporate Charter and Constitution and Bylaws which were later ratified and recognized by the US Bureau of Indian Affairs on January 5, 1942.
The Tanacross Village Council establishes a quorum once per month for regularly scheduled meetings and more often if necessary to direct the Tribe on more urgent matters.
In 1987, the Tanacross Village Council began the process of meeting and surveying residents for long-range visioning. As a result of this monumental effort a master plan was developed for the Native Village of Tanacross, entitled "Designing the Future of the Native Village of Tanacross-A Comprehensive Plan". This plan continues to direct and evolve with the community and has been a great asset in leading the Village.
In December 2001, the Native Village of Tanacross-Tanacross Village Council received the Tanana Chiefs Conference's (TCC) "Village of The Year" award for economic development successes.
The Tanacross Village Council takes a very agressive approach to economic development and maintains a philosophy of vigorously pursuing economic independance and Tribal sovereginty. The following is a list of current Tanacross Village Council projects:
